Susan Prendergast NP PhD(C), Clinical Director and Nurse Practitioner at Ellithia Healthcare, will be giving us the run down on Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). BHRT is the treatment of hormone imbalance with hormones that are identical to those produced naturally in the human body. During this short session, Susan will provide an overview of the new approach to management of women’s health conditions and long-term health with BHRT.
BHRT offers significant benefits to women for symptoms of menopause, reproductive disorders and endocrine concerns and over the long term, for prevention of chronic diseases including heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis.
A Bit More About the Presenter:
Susan has a unique background in that she has worked in a variety of specialty areas in women’s health, primary care and acute care. She also has advanced knowledge in comprehensive hormonal evaluations, Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, nutritional and exercise programs, and natural therapies.
Susan is also a Lecturer and PhD Candidate at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Nursing. Susan loves teaching but is even more passionate about women’s health and supporting women to feel their best at any age!
