Joining us this year, as the Emcee for the 2019 Fall Edmonton Woman’s Show, is Global Edmonton’s Daintre Christensen – traffic anchor and morning newscast co-host! If you haven’t met this incredible woman, she is often volunteering in her free time and taking part in a number of different causes and speaking engagements! After all, there really is only so much you can say about Edmonton traffic. :p
Daintre is a successful TV anchor and host on Global Edmonton, but her time away from the camera is spent with a plethora of different focuses. She loves animals and volunteers her services at animal rescue fundraisers throughout the year. As a Global ambassador, she volunteers time to read to children, emcees for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and she and Mike Sobel take part in the MS Bike from Leduc to Camrose each year.
“My career in media has afforded me a platform to bring about change in our community through social media and volunteering.”
She has also been honoured to share to her experiences as an Indigenous woman. Recent speaking engagements include the 2018 Women’s Symposium, and the 2017 Indigenous Women in Leadership Workshop for the Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women.
