Come get to know the people behind Ellie Bianca, a great company with an amazing backstory, at the Fall Edmonton Woman’s Show! Ellie Bianca is an all-natural skin and beauty care line, infused with the benefits of essential oils, that was founded by Evelyne Nyairo, a proudly African-Canadian woman who had an extreme passion and deep desire to bring change for the women of the world. “Determined to ensure that gender inequity, bias, or prejudice of any kind would never hold her or her daughter back from reaching their desired vision or happiness, Ellie’s mom set out on her own quest. As Ellie’s big brown eyes reflected the insight of a wise old woman, a tribal leader, a respected elder, her mother’s drive to raise Ellie to be strong, well-educated and self-confident grew stronger and more determined each day.
On one of her many visits to her home continent, a walk through a village in Chad gave her a moment of awakening. Against a backdrop of dark, rich soils and the hot Africa sun, she watched local women work tirelessly to ward off the crushing forces of poverty all too common in rural Africa. In Chad, the hope for a better life came from a small seed: that of the Shea Tree.
Just as local women in Chad harnessed the power of shea to care for their own skin, Evelyne knew these trees could heal the community in an even bigger way: by empowering women through business. By establishing relationships with women farmers, the first batch of raw shea butter was harvested and bought, and Ellie Bianca the company, was born.”
