The Lurana Shelter Society is a foundation that has been in operation since 1993. They provide women and children fleeing domestic violence with a first-stage emergency shelter. The Shelter offers a safe, confidential location, crisis intervention, food, clothing, transportation, and child support for those in need. As about 80% of domestic violence situations go unreported, the reality is that these services are very needed.
The Edmonton Woman’s Show is proud to be a longtime supporter of the Lurana Shelter Society. Each Spring and Fall we feature a fundraising promotion to help them raise funds and awareness. This Spring, the Lurana Shelter Society is celebrating their 25th year and is asking for 25-cent donations to help them plant two apple trees. A simple but effective way to support this great cause!
