The Lurana Shelter Society is a foundation that provides women and children fleeing domestic violence with a first-stage emergency shelter. The Shelter offers a safe, confidential location, immediate crisis intervention, food, clothing, transportation, and child support, and has been operating since 1993. As about 80% of domestic violence situations go unreported, the reality is that these services are very needed.
As a long time and proud supporter of the Lurana Shelter Society, the Edmonton Woman’s Show was thrilled to raise funds and awareness for their good cause. We held a very successful silent auction for the Shelter, and raised awareness by speaking with many of our visitors. Thank you to everyone who participated in the silent auction and supported this excellent cause!
