We are thrilled to welcome Collette, owner of Organizing by Oz Professional Organizing to the Main Stage at the 2024 Edmonton Woman’s Show! Join Collette as she presents, “There Is Always A Reason,” where she will explore the ‘why’ behind the clutter. She’ll delve into why clutter pops up for people, including the three common areas people tend to fall into:
- Health Changes – whether it is mental or physical changes, they can impact an individual’s ability to keep things tidy and organized
- Relationship Change – death of a loved one, relationship break ups, relationship merges, etc. can all create a bit of chaos and clutter
- Boundaries – family treasures passed down, gifts received, roles over maintaining shared spaces, etc. can be hard to navigate
Regardless of the area, getting and keeping organized is not always a straightforward process. Changes to finances, residence, emotional triggers, and stress can make the journey more complicated than it may seem at first glance.
More About The Speaker
Collette was inspired to turn her natural skill of organizing into a business when her mother’s space needed to change to accommodate a walker, a family friend needed to downsize her home of 37 years into a 1-bedroom retirement facility after her husband’s death, and a room no one wanted to tackle had to be organized after the sudden death of a relative.
With over 20 years’ experience as a caseworker and Certified Child and Youth Care Counsellor, in addition to being a Trained Professional Organizer, her nonjudgmental, compassionate and caring approach helps create a safe space to be able to make decisions and love your space again. She understands the emotions any transition can bring and offers a sensitive yet effective approach for success. Collette also holds level 1 certificates of study in ADHD and Chronic Disorganization. She lives with ADHD personally and supports friends and family on the neurodiverse spectrum.
